ECOsine® Active – new harmonic filters for 690 V systems
The Schaffner Group further broadens its product offering of solutions for the improvement of power quality. The popular active harmonic filtersECOsine®Activeare now also available for 3-phase TN and IT500 – 690 Vpower grids. Nowadays, an increasing number of energy-efficient electrical consumers are used in industrial applications, including variable speed drives for motor control. These modern technologies contribute significantly to the reduction of electrical energy consumption; however, as an unwanted byproduct of their operation they can negatively affect the power quality. ECOsine® Active harmonic filters deliver a reliable remedy. They provide the system with an opposing corrective current immediately, compensating harmonics, phase shift and load-unbalance at the same time. They dynamically adapt to changing grid and load situations, providing an optimum compensation performance at all times. | ![]() |
New in the Schaffner product offering are active filters for three phase networks on the level of 690 V/50 Hz or 600 V/60 Hz, often used in heavy industry, chemical industry, mining or oil exploration. The new active filters with the designation FN 3420-200-690-3 can be programmed to the specific needs of the application and provide up to 200 A of corrective current. If more is needed, up to 10 units can be paralleled at the same set of current transformers. State-of-the-art power electronics with 3-level technology are at the core of the new filters, helping to significantly reduce power loss. The 690 V active harmonic filters come in sturdy IP54 rated cabinets. A UL-approved version (FN 3420-200-690-3-UL) is currently in preparation.
