1962   Company founded by Hans Schaffner, a pioneer in electromagnetic compatibility.  
  First products were heat dissipaters, electronic relays and flow metering devices for filling stations.  
1970   Launching of first EMC power line filter.  
1971   Expansion of product range to include first EMC test equipment.  
1975   Establishment of first subsidiary: Schaffner France, in Paris.

1992   Concentration of medium-to-large-series production of components at the subsidiary in Thailand.  
  Opening of representative office in Milan, Italy.  
1994   Centralization of European distribution activities at Euro Logistics Center in Alsace.  
  Establishment of sales and distribution companies in Sweden (Sollentuna) and Japan (Tokyo).  
  Schaffner Group sales top CHF 100 million for first time.  
1995   Opening of representative office in Beijing, China.  
1996   Management buy-out with the aid of financial investors.  
1998   IPO and listing of the Schaffner Holding AG registered share (SAHN) on the SWX Swiss Exchange.  
  Takeover of British company Chase EMC Ltd., Capel, specializing in test equipment and services in the field of radiated electromagnetic interference.  
  Acquisition of Irish firm PowerTest Electronics Ltd., Dublin, which develops and manufactures automated test equipment for simulating electricity and power supplies.  
  Schaffner takes over worldwide distribution of EMC measuring equipment produced by German company MEB Messelektronik Berlin GmbH, Berlin.  
  Establishment of a sales company in Singapore.  
1999   Takeover of cooperation partner MEB Messelektronik Berlin GmbH, Berlin.  
  Doubling of production area in the Thailand plant.  
  Establishment of an assembly facility in Hungary.  
  Schaffner sales top CHF 150 million for first time.  
2000   Sale of Schaffner Altrac AG to the German firm Fortec Elektronic AG and opening of a direct distribution channel in Switzerland for Schaffner EMC components from the parent company in Luterbach.  
  The Schaffner Group achieves record sales of CHF 185 million for fiscal 1999/2000.  
2001   Acquisition of the Finnish firm ElectroFERRUM OY, which specializes in the development, production and distribution of EMC components, primarily for the telecommunications and industrial electronics markets.  
2002   Acquisition of the German WEE Electrotest Group, active in the development and production of test equipment for cable and function tests for the automotive, aerospace and telecommunications industries.  
  Opening of an engineering and production center in Shanghai, China.  
2004   Production capacity tripled at the engineering and production center in Shanghai, China.  
  Opening of representative office in Taipei, Taiwan R.O.C.  
2006   Sale of the power electronics business line of the test systems division to US-based Intepro America, LLC., Santa Ana, California.  
  Management buy-out of the EMC test business line of the test systems division.  
  Acquisition of the German firm Jacke Transformatoren GmbH, a leading manufacturer of Power Quality products such as power magnetics, reactors and transformers.  
2007   Sale of test systems business completed by management buy-out of Cable & ElectroEmulation business.  
  Production capacity doubled at the engineering and production center in Shanghai, China.  
2008   Opening of new production center in Hungary
