Environmental, health and safety policy

The Schaffner Group is committed to environmental, health and safety issues and understands the direct or indirect impact of all its business activities. We feel an ethical imperative to provide safe working environments for our employees and for all the employees of our customers and their clients worldwide.

Environmental, health and safety considerations play an increasing role in driving business activities and strategic decisions as well as promoting clean manufacturing processes.

In addition to compliance with all current laws and regulations, proactive implementation of future standards such as Reach, ECO Design or RoHS in countries outside of the EU also plays a key role in the future business strength of our company. To minimize the environmental impact of our production processes, we ensure the efficient use of resources, make optimal use of materials and phase out environmentally harmful materials wherever possible.

One basis for an ecologically and economically profitable business model, now and in the future, is to reflect and implement these requirements throughout our added-value process - beginning with customer demand, sustainable product development and a direct and efficient purchasing and supply chain (pollution saving). To remain state-of-the-art, it is also important for us to utilize all feasible technical advances that can benefit our employees, processes and bottom line.

We also regard environmental, health and safety requirements as an impetus with additional innovation potential for the design of our products and the fine-tuning of our production processes.

The availability and targeted communication of our strategy and policy to all employees, customers and other stakeholders - in addition to our open communication channels with the authorities - is a key point for embracing these approaches.

The Schaffner Group complies with the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard as well as all applicable environmental regulations and other guidelines.

The measures adopted to improve the Group's environmental acceptability are reviewed at regular intervals and the results submitted to Group Management for evaluation.
